Inga is the name of Helga Pataki's nanny who her father hired (and later fired) in one episode of Hey Arnold. She always dressed in traditional Swiss clothing and even made Helga wear a Swiss dress.
Very dated in Sweden and Norway. It was most popular in the early 20th century and is seen as kind of a ‘grandma’/great-grandma name and probably won’t be making a comeback. (Unlike Ingrid, although Ingrid has ALWAYS been popular in Norway).
I am Inga. Originally from Russia. So, I pronounce it In-ga, not blending "Ing- a". I am a stereotypical Inga - tall, blond, green eyes. One good thing about this name - it's rare, feels like my very own:).
This is my least favorite nickname of Ingrid. It doesn’t reflect the beauty of the name Ingrid and sounds really harsh. Worst of all, it rhymes with a racial slur.
My name is Inga and I am from California (USA). People always ask if I am from Sweden. I may be blond and have hazel eyes but I am not Swedish. I was not a fan of my name as a child but I have grown to love it.
Inga is a common name in the northern Scottish isles of Orkney and Shetland. Probably because of the islands' strong links to Scandinavia throughout history.

Inga Muscio is a well-known feminist, anti-racism activist and educator.
This is my daughter's first name. She is part Swedish and part Dutch and Frisian (and some other things), hence the two languages. I think her name suits her perfectly because it is beautiful, unusual, and traditional.
