This is one of the only names I can see on every age. Henry can be a grandpa, a middle aged man, a young adult, a teen, a kid, and a baby. It also gives me positive vibes. I absolutely love this name.
I like some old man names. However, I’m not a fan of Henry or the nickname Hank.

I don't dislike this name. I just feel like it lacks a certain depth and character. It's like a blank canvas waiting for someone to bring it to life, or a plain cup of tea that's missing its honey and lemon. I think it's okay, but it could use a little something extra to make it truly special. In my opinion, it needs to be paired with an interesting person or a unique middle name/last name combination to really shine.
Henry and related names must have been VERY popular in Europe and Scandinavia a few generations ago. While looking at our family tree, my partner and I found out we have multiple ancestors with the name. (He's Norwegian and I'm Australian of English/Dutch/Danish descent.) To name a few: His grandfather had Henry as his second name. And my English great grandparents were Henry and Henrietta!I'm considering giving the name to my future son!
I knew a Henry who was the most brilliant person I've ever known and was funny, kind, and charismatic and he was two years older than me, but overall, I think this name is so amazing, and it's old but modern and so interesting all at the same time. I will definitely name one of my children after him.
We have a little Henry and baby brother, Lawson. We absolutely love the classic timeless names with a fresh modern feel!

I also think that Henry is a sexy name (not trying to make anyone uncomfortable). No hate, but I’d totally date a dude named Henry. So, there’s another impression for you.
Three characters by this name come to mind.First is Sir Henry Baskerville, a major character in the infamous novel, The Hound of The Baskervilles.Second is Henry Ledore from the video game Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. And finally, Henry is also a smug green and yellow frog villager from the Animal Crossing video game series.
Henry Zebrowski is an American actor and one of the three hosts/founders of the popular podcast, The Last Podcast on the Left. He has also had film roles, including Heroes Reborn, The Wolf of Wall Street, and the Adult Swim show Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell.
Sir Henry Merrivale (known to those close to him as H.M.) is a fictional amateur detective / barrister / government operative, created by mystery author John Dickson Carr under the pseudonym of Carter Dickson. H.M. works for a dilapidated espionage department in Westminster, but spends much of his time aiding his friend Chief Inspector Masters in puzzling cases which seem to be impossible. From a fraudulent medium killed in a shed with its door locked on both sides, barred windows, and no footprints in the mud around it all next to a haunted house; to a stabbing done by an apparently invisible killer and weapon in front of witnesses at a French chateau where a master thief is hiding; to defending a young man found in an ostensibly locked and sealed room with a man stabbed by an arrow which apparently only he could have done; and even figuring out if and how a mentalist could kill two people just by thinking them to death without a scratch; H.M.'s cases are baffling but all have a sensible explanation behind them. H.M. often speaks in slang and strange oaths like "Lord love a duck!", enjoys reading pulp fiction, actively avoids being made a member of the House of Lords, and always wears a ridiculous top hat.
This name is really growing on me. I can't say it's one of my favorites, but I must admit, it definitely has a sweet timeless charm about it. It ages beautifully, as well.
One of my favorite male names that are handsome and timeless! When I think of the name Henry, I picture a little boy with straight hair in bowl or curtain cut.
I would probably like it more if it weren't so overused. It just seems boring to me. No offense to those named Henry or to those who like the name, though.
Addressed to the comment that was typed on 03/03/21. There is nothing antiquated nor boring about the regal name that is known as Henry. Your comment on the other hand can be described exactly as you have said about this handsome name.Good day.

King Henry VIII of England. King Henry had eight wives and was the father of Mary, Queen of Scots and Queen ELizabeth I.
Corin Amour Bernard, I am sorry to say that you are incorrect when detailing Henry VIII as being the father of Mary Queen of Scots. No, he was not her father. Her great uncle, yes, through her grandmother, princess Margaret Tudor who was the elder sister of King Henry VIII and was subsequently married to the Scottish King James IV. The Mary you are confusing the Scottish queen with was none other than Mary I of England, also known as "Bloody Mary". Mary I was the only surviving child of King Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Queen Elizabeth I was the only surviving child of King Henry's second marriage to Anne Boleyn of whom he had beheaded for alleged adultery when she could not bear him a son. PS- King Henry VIII had only six wives and not eight.

I really want to love the name Henry. It looks great when written down, it has a very rich history, so many literary connections and famous bearers, and it's arguably the best classic boys name ever. With that being said I unfortunately don't quite love this name, I simply like it. I think the only thing that keeps me from loving it is how it sounds when said out loud. However, if you love the name Henry I would highly recommend using it. You can't go wrong with such a classic name!
I love the name Henry. I disagree with anyone saying it's too common. I've never met or heard of anyone named Henry. It's a great name with great history and has great associations.

I don't know if this is good for 'famous bearer', but I have noticed this is a common video game protag/antag/helpful person in game name, and thinking maybe in the namesakes that should be a category. For example, Henry Stein from the horror game BATIM, (Bendy and the Ink Machine) who is the protagonist. Also, in FNaF (Five Nights at Freddy's), the man who gives you instructions in many of the games is Henry Emily. He also plays a part in the FNaF books, and is Co-owner of the Pizzeria. I'm sure there are more.
Usage: English, Swedish (Modern) Pronounced: HEHN-ree (English), HEHN-ruy (Swedish)

The name sounds wimpy and old fashioned to me. I also despise the nicknames Hank and Harry. Neither one even makes sense as a nickname for Henry. (Harry is more appropriate as a shortened form of "Harold." And Hank is just a dumb redneck-sounding name.)

Henry is a nice name. It's one of the few boy names that are popular nowadays that I actually love (I also like Edward, Jack, George and Tom). It makes me think of smartness and engineering and feels very victorian. I also named one of my characters Henry.
I have a very big soft spot for this name, as it's the name of someone I love who passed on recently. While I agree that it's too common, I love the slight nerdy edge it has to it and how it sounds soft yet still masculine. I adore it.

For everyone saying Henry sounds like an "old man's name," I urge you all to realize that every old man was once a child, a baby even! So I'd say that Henry is a perfectly suitable name for a young boy. Case closed.
My 18 month old is named Henry and I love it! It's classic and strong, but sweet and friendly at the same time. Looks like its popularity is on the rise, though I have yet to meet another little boy named Henry. People compliment me on my son's name all the time, I think it's quite refreshing to hear when every other little boy these days is named something rhyming with Aden. I highly recommend this name to anyone considering it! :)

Henry the Eighth, the famous Tudor king with the six wives. Also there's a song by Herman's Hermits Called 'Henry the Eighth, I am' which is not about the king, though.
I'm not sure why I don't like this name, maybe because it's a bit stiff or maybe because I hate the nickname Hank. Its saving grace used to be that it was an underexposed classic but it got so popular that I cant find anything to like about it anymore.
I adore this name! It is definitely going to my son if I ever have one. I think it would be simply adorable on a little boy, but would also grow up with him nicely.
I like this name, and part of that liking is due to this being my grandfather's name. My impression of this name is a laid back, funny, intelligent kind of guy, and that description fits my grandpa perfectly. I would use it as a middle name.
I LOVE this name but I think it is too trendy to use right now. I can see how people perceive the name in different ways. On one hand it can be modern & preppy like a Pottery Barn catalog. On the other hand it can be old-fashioned and rural sounding, like Uncle Henry from the Wizard of Oz.
My last name is Henry. One of the most masculine names out there. I might consider this a middle name for a future son and no his last name wouldn't be Henry of course.

I like the name, but a boy would possibly be mocked at school with this name, so I named my dog Henry. That's not to say I think it's only fit for a dog, I just don't like the idea of a child being made fun of because his name has the word "hen" in it.
I love the name Henry! I'm going to name my first son Henry. To me Henry is a great name to go through life with, i'ts cute as a child and masculine as an adult. Henry reeks of nobility, strength and intelligence. The name itself has been around for centuries and it's a shame everyone thinks it's too "old-fashioned" because of that. When all the kids today are named Shawn, Brad and Micheal, you'll regret you didn't pick Henry.
Henry is my father's name. He's never liked it. He says he got teased for it when he was a kid (apparently it was a weird name in NYC in the fifties), and it's for animals.
Henry is a lovely name. It's strong but very sweet. It's not very common where I live, and I only know a little 5 year old with it and a 7 year old. It suits both. If you want a strong, sweet, not common, great name, pick Henry!

Henry Valentine Miller (December 26, 1891 – June 7, 1980) was an American writer and, to a lesser extent, painter. He is known for breaking with existing literary forms and developing a new sort of "novel" that is a mixture of novel, autobiography, social criticism, philosophical reflection, surrealist free association, and mysticism, one that is distinctly always about and expressive of the real-life Henry Miller and yet is also an imaginative construct. His most characteristic works of this kind are Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn, and Black Spring. He also wrote travel memoirs and essays of literary criticism and analysis. He was played by Fred Ward in the 1990 movie Henry & June, and Rip Torn in the 1970 film adaptation of Tropic of Cancer.
