Eva is my name and I love my name, it's a shame that the name is not used much.

I do think it sounds cute! However, I don't like the pronunciation of EE-vuh because it sounds a bit childish. I prefer it to be pronounced EH-vuh because it sounds more mature. As pronounced EE-vuh, I can't really picture it on a grown woman.
7/10It never grew on me and I can't see it ever growing on me. It's a nice name, but I don't see myself naming my child this. It's much better than "Ava" or "Eve" all around okay. Love y'all Evas!
Eva is beautiful, delicate yet strong. One of my best friends has this name and it suits her very well, she has light brown hair and hazel eyes and is the sweetest person. I love her name and also the similar Eve and Evangeline. The meaning “life” is wonderful.
I wish this name (along with Ava, Evie etc) wasn't so common in England because I would absolutely use it for a little girl. It's wonderful, light and bright and fresh and beautiful!

So my name IS Eva (Pronounced: EH-VA) and I constantly see these horrible comments about my name, especially the one that is pronounced the way my name is. My name means LIFE and divine beauty. I am so sick of people always making my name sound like a plague or something. I love my name because it defines differently from any other name in one way, I have over one hundred brothers and sisters that have similar names to mine and that is amazing because I'll never really be alone and people who's name is Eva are particularly good at giving out karma and revenge, so be careful.

I love this name! It's so beautiful pronounced "EE-vuh".
5/10 Kind of dull. It's better than Ava or Eve for sure All the Eva's I've met are really naughty (which is about 6 of them). Kind of tacky and can't see it on a grown woman.
Definitely would prefer this over Eve, yet Eve is also a beautiful name. It’s so short, but sweet and gentle and mischievous at the same time. :) When I was 11 or so, I had a girl named Eva in my class, and she was really naughty, which isn’t always a bad thing, is it…?
I love the name Eva because it sounds so sweet. I actually prefer this over Eve, which I think is too short. My friend in elementary school had this name.
Our little princess is Aliana Eva (nickname Ali). I love that Eva means life.

Well. I have different feelings about this name. Somehow it looks simple, but strong, but in another way somehow just boring, like something is missing in that name. Just alright, but not too surprising.
So, my name is Eva and I don't necessarily love my name, but I have grown to like it. A reason why I don't like it that much I because of how people pronounce it. My mom gave me the name EH-va, but people'll pronounce it EE-va, and even like Ava. I know that it's not necessarily their fault, but I still get annoyed. And I've seen many comments that say it's too short to be a name, or it should just be a nickname, I somewhat agree, but, I have two last names, so my parents wanted a short name. My name goes Eva (Middle Name) (Last Name)-(Last Name). I hope you could understand that. In fact, my nickname, Evita, is longer than my actual name. And I hear people say, "Eve is better" well I'll have you know, that my name is the Spanish form of Eve. Oh, and some people call me "Ev" or "Evs."
My firstborn daughters' names is Evani (ehh-vuh-knee) and we like to call her Eva (ehh-vuh) for short :). I honestly think this is too short to be an actual name, but for a nickname it's absolutely adorable!.
I chose to name my daughter Eva. In Russian, we pronounce it Yeh-vah. The letter E sounds like Yeh. It has the exact meaning to Eve, and I thought about naming her that to Americanize it but kept it Eva because I thought it can go both ways. I read that in 2016 it was one of the most popular names in Slavic countries. It’s timeless, sounds nice, easy to spell, recognizable. To me it’s the ultimate female name meaning life. I think it’s powerful and international with a good reputation.
I don't like Eva at all. With any pronunciation. I think I should like it, it has many features that I appreciate in names, I have some nice associations, people who bear this name are often awesome for some reason and always very kind-hearted, well, anyway those I know, but I've never liked it and I really don't think I'm going to like it in future. I pronounce it either E-vah or EE-vah, depends on the context and situation. I don't like Eve too. I like the nickname Evie slightly more, but I much much prefer it as a nickname for Evelyn or Evangeline.
I prefer this to the more popular and harsher sounding Ava and the controversial Eve. It is short and easy to pronounce. Plus it has nicknames like Evie and Eve.
I think this name is pretty, along with Ava and Iva. I'm not a huge fan of Eve simply because of the religious associations. Eva also seems a bit more complete.

I like it pronounced "AY-vuh." It's pretty, though you'd think it would be more distinctive/less common. I live in the US and can't say I remember ever meeting or knowing an Eva (or Ava, or Eve) personally. I just think of Gabor! ;)
Hmmm, well, as somebody who has this name.. When I was little, I used to not like this name one bit. I still don't favor it today. I find so many more interesting and unique names out there and I feel mine is rather bland. I think it isn't too bad though now. I wish I knew more back story to it though.
My moms name is Eva and I love the name! She doesn't really like it though, she thinks it's too short and plain. But I think the name is very beautiful, I love how it's very simple, but also very pretty.

This is my younger sister's name, Eva. Eva Josephine. Pronounced like ee-va and in German it's ee-fa. I adore this name so much. We are a German heritaged family, and this name is perfect. It isn't so common, it is elegant, beautiful, short and ages well. A winning name.
Eva is such a pretty name! Pronounced like ee-vuh, of course. Please, do not pronounce this pretty name like eh-vuh. Eh-vuh is a really ghetto sounding pronunciation of this pretty name. And plus, it reminds me of "WhatEver". If it is pronounced like eh-va, someone might say "Ever" and your daughter would turn to that person, thinking " Did you call me". No, NOT UGLY EH-VA! GO EE-VA! Also, please don't pronounce it like REALLY ugly Ay-va if you live in a non-Dutch speaking country. It is so ugly. If you pronounce it like Ee-va, your daughter would thank you.

My great aunt and grandmother from italy were both named Eva. I think it is the most beautiful, elegant, timeless and classic name for a girl. I am currently pregnant with my first child and want nothing more than to have a girl so I can name her after the most influential women that ever graced my life.

This is my little sister's name. It is quite cute and it suits her. It is pronounced 'ee-vuh', and I think it is the most prettiest out of all. We sometimes pronounce it the German way 'e-fah' when we speak German. I think this name can suit any girl and it sounds nicer than the very overused Ava. A good girls name.

I know a girl who pronounced it Ay-vuh. I personally like Ee-vuh better.
Eva is one of my favorite names, and I love that it's my middle name. I sometimes wish that this was my first name, since I find many more Alexandras than Evas. My family pronounces it a number of ways. My siblings say EE-vah, my parents say EH-vah, and I say AH-vah. I don't really care, because I love my name. My Hebrew name is Chava, which means "giver of life" (reason for why I pronounce it the way I do). A beautiful meaning for a beautiful name!
This name is lovely; so much better than the overly trendy Ava. Due to famous women like Eva Peron, Eva Braun, and Eva Gabor, I've always pronounced it like Ava. I just can't pronounce it with a long E.
I pronounce Eva and Ava the same way, but I far prefer Eva. It just sounds so classical, pretty, universal, and timeless, in comparison to Ava, which is very faddish and overused at the moment.
I love this name beyond belief. To me it's beautiful, sweet, and somewhat other-wordly--as weird as that sounds. But I think I liked this name a lot more after listening to the song "Eva" by Nightwish, my favourite band. =)
I love this name! It's simple and nice and has a great meaning. I have a friend who has this name and I think it suits her well. When I think of the name Eva, I think of a wonderful, smart girl with a good sense of humor.
Eva is the name my husband and I gave our daughter (now 10 months old). I always loved it - it's simple, feminine without being frilly, international, short and easy to pronounce - or so I thought! The problem we have with it now is that so many people think she's just another "Ava"! We pronounce it EE-vah.
I always ignored the name Eva, thinking it was boring, too short, too simple. Then I read this book, called Tenderwire, and the protagonist was named Eva Tyne, and she was such an unforgettable character that it made me fall in love with this name.
Oh, gosh, where to start? I just adore this name on so many levels. Beautiful sound, classic without being overused, feminine without being frilly, suits a newborn and her grandmother equally well. Not terribly popular, but not weird either, still familiar and easy to spell/pronounce. Short enough that it doesn't require a nickname, but has the option of two lovely nicknames if you so desire (they can even grow with her - Evie for when she's a little girl, Eve for when she's older). To me, it's just the perfect name.

Another one of my favorite short and sweet names :)
We named one of my twin daughters Eva (12 months old). We pronounce it eh-vuh and I think it is the most beautiful -- and unusal -- version of the name. Sooo much better than Ava or Ella! I think and hope that our Evy will be the only Eva she knows!
Another one of my favourite names for a girl. Classically pretty and feminine and not extremely common. I also like how you could use the nicknames Eve and Evie with it.
