Meaning & History
Derived from Betsaida, which is the Spanish form of Bethsaida, the name of two places in the New Testament. For both places, the name is either of Aramaic or Hebrew origin and means either "house of hunting" or "house of fishing". Also compare Bethany, which is somewhat similar etymologically and also refers to a biblical place.
