In the Bible, Adnah is one of the commanders of a King Jehoshaphat's army. He is only mentioned once in the Bible, in 2 Chronicles 17:14.

Meaning & History

The name is of uncertain meaning. It is very similar to Adnah 1, however they are not exactly the same. They both come from the Hebrew noun עדן ('eden), meaning "luxury", "delight", or "pleasure". The second part of the name may come from אח ('ah), meaning "brother". Some sources claim that together, the name means "favorite brother" or "delightful brother". Another theory is that the name is a variant of Adna, however this is uncertain.

In the Bible, Adnah is one of the men of Manasseh who deflected to David while in Ziklag. He is only mentioned once in the Bible, in 1 Chronicles 12:20.
