Means "her father" in Arabic, from the kunya (nickname or byname) of Fatimah bint Muhammad أمّ أبیها (Umm Abiha), literally "the mother of her father". Fatimah was the only daughter of the Prophet Muhammad whose children grew to adulthood. It is said that the nickname was given to her by her father as a sign of affection.
