My favourites are forget-me-nots, hence Myosotis haha. I wouldn't use it on a child, even if it was more usable, it's too much my username/online persona now. I also love African violets, but I'm not a huge fan of Violet. I do like Viola (but as vee-OH-luh) and Violetta.
I definitely don't think you have to love a flower to use it as a name. I love Lavender and Marigold, but they're not my favourites.
