I saw the same video! Yes, he pronounced it like Oh-dee-say-ess and I found it extremely odd. I don't think it's a legitimate pronunciation but I'm no expert either.

I honestly thought maybe they named him Odysseus so they could nickname him Odie because they seemed hipster-y. They also had an Ajax and then another son with a name that wasn't mythical.
