[Opinions] BA and Suggestion Request

A girl I went to college with has just had her second child. Mother is Emerald; father, Richard; and daughter, Sapphire (don't recall middle). The new addition is a BOY named Jade Hunter.My brother and his wife are expecting their third boy. They've decided on Tobias for a first name (to be exclusively called Toby), but they're stuck on a middle name. Brother previously liked Elliot but has grown "meh" about it. My SIL has told me to send her as many suggestions as I want because they've got no idea. I've sent a bunch of suggestions already, and my SIL likes Elijah and Patrick best so far. Nothing really stands out though. They already have a Colton James and Benjamin Michael. I thought I would turn to you fine people to help them find a name for my nephew. So. Suggestions?-----------------------------------------

Huge fan of Jade on a boy. I really am. It's a bit cliché with the gem theme from mom... but eh, I have seen worse. Tobias Scott

I think you have a pretty good handle on the kinds of names that are more there style, which is why I've already suggested most of them. Haha! Thanks all the same!

The first Jade I ever knew was a boy but I think he'll have it hard now that it's so common as a girls' name.What about Tobias William? It goes well with the other names =)

I think Jade sounds a bit down market on a girl, but it's kind of cool on a boy. That said, I agree that the "girls' name" thing could be problematic.I've already suggested Tobias William. I think it sounds great on its own, but the last name starts with a W. I don't mind the alliteration, but I don't know how they feel about it, just that William wasn't a front runner. Thanks though!

Last name ends with --er, so I've been weeding out any names that end in er/or/ar, but I suppose I should check with them on that. I've suggested a number of these names already, but there's still more than half of your list that I can run by them. Thanks!

Huhn. Emerald, Sapphire and Jade? Much as I love Jade for a boy, this is seriously cheesy. Especially as the husband/father is called Richard. Of course he must go by Rich, because he's surrounded by precious stones. Also, Jade Hunter? He's hunting for jade-stones. Or maybe it is something akin to being a gold digger.But, I am really loving Colton, Benjamin and Tobias as a sibset. Tobias Elijah gets my vote! It has a great rhythm.
