Actually, she likes Bos ... as it will be his (if boy) initials too. Not sure about a girl.
She is not from Boston, but she loves it there, went to school there, the father is from there, etc...
I agree that there should be a connection to a place-name if you use it. I know a Baker who was named such because both his parents happened to grow up on a Baker Street and Baker Road in two different towns... then they bought a house on Baker Ave in my town. So... they named their son Baker.
I only really like names that just happen to be places as well (
Elmira,
Randolph,
Sherman, Cicily, etc...).
