I'm leaning more toward the chic side, due to Shakespeare, BUT that's when I pronounce it Bee-ANN-kuh, which is, from what i've gathered from American tv, different to the American pronunciation of Bee-AHN-kuh, which I think sounds dated and trashy.
So depends on the pronunciation for me.
