In 1984, the WMO decided to retire the names Cesar, Diana, Edouard, Hortense, Isidore, Klaus, Lili, Marco, Nana, Rene, Sally, Wilfred, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Kappa, and Omicron. Due to Greek rules, they are gonna be used later on. They were replaced with Cristobal, Dolly, Emile, Hanna, Ike, Kyle, Laura, Miguel, Natasha, Ruben, Susan, and Wendell for the 1989 season, respectively.
