Congratualtions Jessenia and Gyles!
Your new children are five year old Charlotte Elsie and four year old Martha Jemima from America.
Lottie and Martha are two very close sisters who had to be taken into care a year ago along with their two year old brother Felix Kenneth. Their mother could no longer cope with her children as she had severe depression coupled with ME. So she asked social services to take the children off her hands. They now have no contact with their mother. Sadly little Felix died a few months later just 2 days after his third birthday of meningitis. This has left the two girls in deep shock at being seperated from both their mum and brother.
Lottie is a sweet little girl who is trying to be brave for Martha. Doing well at school and making friends fairly easily she seems to be coping well. However she does have bed wetting problems which shows some of what she must be feeling underneath her brave act. Lottie will need a lot of time and support to guide her through the next few years.
Martha is also a sweet girl who gives lots of smiles and laughs. Warming to people very quickly she makes it very easy for people to love her. Martha is very confused at the moment and does not fully understand what has happened in this past year, thus can be very clinging and prone to whining and crying for no obvious reason. Once settled into a new home Martha should prove to be a lovely little daughter.
Lottie and Martha have a traumatic year and need a settled home with lots of love. They will then prove to be very successful young women when they grow up.
Please tell me how Lottie and Martha get on with you.
