Year 0 (2017)

Cedric and Tünde got married two years ago, and live together in a cottage in Geneva, Switzerland. Cedric is British, and works as a banker, while Tünde is from Hungary and is a professor of biochemistry at the University of Geneva.

Year 1 (2018) - Family event - Someone gets injured
Cedric's rather clumsy. He manages to injure himself at work, in the notoriously dangerous field of banking (he fell down the stairs and broke his arm).

Year 2 (2019) - Child event - Baby girl
Perhaps after celebrating Cedric getting the cast off his arm, Tünde finds out that she's pregnant with a little girl!

Year 3 (2020) - Career event - New job within field
Tünde decides that, although she loves the university, she would enjoy teaching younger students more, and so becomes a secondary school chemistry teacher instead. Dr Emmett is very popular with the students, and Tünde soon settles into her new work.

Year 4 (2021) - Random event - New job and move
It turns out that secondary school kids are stressful. And so when Cedric tells Tünde that he's been made redundant, but found a new job in Romania, she's more than happy to move. They trust that Tünde's excellent reputation in the biochemistry industry will find her a job, and so in 2021 the Emmett family move into a mansion in Bucharest.

Year 5 (2022) - Random event - Adopt a pet
Tünde and Cedric decide that teaching Lena responsibility from a young age is a good idea, and so they get her a pet hamster to help to care for - Mirela!

Year 6 (2023) - Family event - Move to a new place
The Emmetts just can't stay still! They don't really enjoy life in Romania, and so Cedric and Tünde both find jobs in Berlin, Germany, where they move into a 2 bedroom apartment.

Year 7 (2024) - Family event - Someone gets an award
Tünde makes a groundbreaking discovery, after 4 years of painstaking research in 3 different countries, and she wins a Nobel prize!

Year 8 (2025) - Family event - Someone gets injured
Ah, the dangerous field of banking. Cedric manages to injure himself again, this time breaking his hand and collar bone (Tünde marvels at his ability to get hurt in even the most mundane of situations). Lena starts school this year too.

Year 9 (2026) - Child event - You choose gender and number

7 year old Lena is pretty stressed out by the sudden diversion of attention - sextuplets take up a lot of time, and Tünde and Cedric are constantly tired. Their 2 bedroom apartment can't hold 9 people, either.

Year 10 (2027) - Family event - Someone gets injured
If someone gets injured, it's gonna be Cedric. And yes, he's yet again broken a bone, this time his leg. It puts a lot of strain on Tünde, as Cedric is a lot less mobile and so she has to get up in the night to tend to the sextuplets.

Year 11 (2028) - Family event - Move to a new place
There's just no room for a family of nine in a two bedroom apartment, and so the Emmetts move to a castle just outside Berlin! Lena is terribly excited to live in a castle, and the new space is great for everyone.

Year 12 (2029) - Child event (why) - Triplets (I'm so sorry to the entire family)
The Emmetts have been blessed with triplets!

Year 13 (2030) - Random event - New job and move
Lena is devastated when her parents tell her that they're moving again - she had just settled down into castle life! However, Cedric has found an excellent job as the finance editor for a newspaper, the catch being that the job is in Austria. So, the Emmetts pack up their 12 children and move into a duplex in Vienna. It's a bit squished (the sextuplets don't appreciate sharing a room!) but they get by.

Year 14 (2031) - Child event (uh-oh) - You choose number and gender

Their household is chaos already, so Tünde and Cedric don't mind when Lena asks for a dog. They welcome Karla, an energetic 3-year-old chocolate labrador into the family. Lena's glad that she's got someone to confide in, even if it's just a dog.
