Of the Royal House Zeerenholt, of the Duchy of Saxenburg-Ausbeck
Life is good in Saxenburg-Ausbeck. Things have settled down between the duchy and Zeerburg-Münligen and for the first time in years Saxenburg-Ausbeck is a very peaceful place to live. Since the duchy is an agricultural state most people depend on the weather and it seems like this year will be a fantastic year that well exceeds their dreams. And can you believe it, the Fürstin had twins! That is a good sign and the people celebrate for days.
In the royal household the relationship between Josephina and Gregorius III is still very strained. She is tired after having so many children in five years. She feels so old and she's only 23. She's secretly thrilled that the doctor told her and Gregorius III to not have any children for at least two years. Her body needs to recover and another pregnancy can lead to her death if it's too soon. She recently began to fantasise about a stable boy (she now knows his name is Tilo Kimard) after suspecting that her husband has a mistress. She now fantasise about running away with Tilo and leaving everything behind. However, Tilo seems oblivious to the effects he has on the Fürstin. In fact, Josephina has only seen him from her window. She has tried to come up with an excuse to go down to the stable but she is yet to come up with a good one. Josephina is also terrified that her husband has had a child out of wedlock. He is much older than her and she knows he has had plenty of women before her.
Gregorius III on the other hand is happy with his life. He is again the ruler of a prosperous duchy, the people is happy and he has five healthy children but more importantly, three sons! He gets the feeling sometimes that Josephina is not quite happy with her life but he can't understand what more she could want. And she is still a very beautiful woman. He can't deny that. It's too bad she always seems so cold and indifferent towards him and the doctor's advice didn't make things better as far as he's concerned. It's a good thing he has Eremina, the kitchen maid, to comfort him.
