It had only been eight months since Lily's birth when Queen Rosa once again found herself pregnant. The physicians suspected twins early on, and Queen Rosa watched the harvests as much as she watched her own growing belly. She was anxious about her health and the health of her babies, as well as about the health of her people. They needed a strong harvest to help restore the kingdom, and as the months passed she and Thaddeus discussed what they would do if the harvest was bad again. Rosa also insisted that they discuss privately what would happen if she was to die in childbirth. It was a conversation that Thaddeus didn't want to have, but Rosa insisted. Mira, only five years old, was far too young to rule should anything happen, and Rosa set up a plan for a regency with Thaddeus at the head until Mira reached the age of eighteen. They both hope that this plan will never be needed, but as Rosa said, it is har better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it.
The summer months were hard on Rosa, and at the urging of her physicians she cut down her public appearances and allowed Thaddeus to take more responsibility. She didn't really mind, as this gaveher even more time to spend with her children. Mira had just started her formal tutoring, following the same plan Rosa did, but Rosa had already taught her to read and count and add a little before it started. Gabe has become a little whirlwind of activity, constantly craving a new toy or a new song or a new game. He is a generous heart and always wants to share with his little sister, and he greatly admires his elder sister. Lily is a sweet and darling little toddler who loves to be cuddled and have her lovely dark hair combed. All of Rosa and Thaddeus's children love stories and songs, and she spent many hours with them reading and singing.
A year and a half after Lily's birth, Rosa gave birth to twins. It was the middle of the harvest season, and what a season it was! The ground seemed to be apologizing for the previous harvests and gave generously. Healthy twins followed a healthy harvset: Princess Gwendolyn Elizabeth Violetta Grace and Prince Remus Walter Samuel Fionn were born after a long and difficult labor that nevertheless left mother and babies in perfect health. Gwen and Remus, as they're known, both have their mother's dark hair, but look rather more like their father. Gwen's first name was simply one Rosa and Thaddeus loved, Elizabeth was for Rosa's mother as well as being a popular name with the people, Violetta was to continue the floral theme the king and queen had inadvertantly begun with their daughters, and Grace was another popular Tayelan name. Remus was a particular favorite name of Rosa's, Walter is a popular Tayelan boys name Thaddeus happens to love, Gilbert was for Thaddeus's father, and Fionn is one of the most common names for Tayelan boys in the past years. The people love the naming of the twins, feeling that they were named for them, and love them even more than the other three for it. With peace established and harvests back on track, Rosa is hoping for a long break before any more difficulties.
