Kate was a rather... unexpected baby.
When Kat found out she was pregnant with Kate... she cried. It wasn't time for another baby and besides, wasn't she getting a little too old to still be popping out kids? Max was
14 when she found out and Sasha was
four. The age difference between her and her newest siblings would be
five years! The biggest age difference between consecutive children, at that point had been between Max and Zack and Jake and Sasha, barely three years! She was
not ready for this. Fortunately, Hale wasn't as upset about her pregnancy as she was and at first that annoyed her, but then she realized that he was looking at the glass half-full and decided it
could be a good thing. Another child to love. Another child to teach their family business too. Speaking of the business, She and Hale had sent Max and Zack to Eddie's for schooling on shoplifting and pickpocketing from their tenth birthdays on. Both boys had gotten pretty good at their respective trade (Zack pickpocketing, Max both) and soon Eddie was going to teach them how to set up a successful heist, on their own. This makes Kat a little nervous. So does the fact that this year, Abbie is planning on going. She will truly miss her little girl. It's not that she doesn't love Sasha and Kate as much as Abbie, but Abbie is just special... so pure. She still doesn't know if she is going to let her baby go. Jake and Sasha still have a few years to go, so they are attending a private school, just outside city limits, where they teach children who think they want to work for the law. That way, Kat and Hale hope the children will better understand the techniques the government uses and ways to not get caught.
