Welcome Matvei and Emma!

Matvei is a seven-year-old boy from eastern Russia. His family was too poor to support him, but they would like to remain in contact with him, particularly his older sister Sasha. Matvei speaks Russian and some English, and is eager to learn more. He enjoys learning, sports and playing with other kids. Matvei is asthmatic, and has to take medicine to control his condition.
Emma Juliette is three and from Australia. Her mother, father and brother died in a bush fire, which only Emma survived. Emma has mild Asperger Syndrome. She very much likes cars and mechanics, and also enjoys reading, being read to, reading to others, and writing things.
Congratulations on your new family members!

Thank you!
6 months have past.
Matvei is learning English quickly. We are also learning Russian. He joined the baseball team at the local community center. He also plays baseball with Robert quite often. He has also made some friends in his Second Grade class. We are planning a trip to Russia next summer to visit his family.
Emma is really sweet. She and Linnea get along well and like to play with each other. We read to her a lot and she can already read some simple books by herself.
Thank you so much for these wonderful children!
