Welcome Matvei and Emma!
Matvei is a seven-year-old boy from eastern Russia. His family was too poor to support him, but they would like to remain in contact with him, particularly his older sister Sasha. Matvei speaks Russian and some English, and is eager to learn more. He enjoys learning, sports and playing with other kids. Matvei is asthmatic, and has to take medicine to control his condition.
Emma Juliette is three and from Australia. Her mother, father and brother died in a bush fire, which only Emma survived. Emma has mild Asperger Syndrome. She very much likes cars and mechanics, and also enjoys reading, being read to, reading to others, and writing things.
Congratulations on your new family members!

Thank you!
6 months have past.
Matvei is learning English quickly. We are also learning Russian. He joined the baseball team at the local community center. He also plays baseball with Robert quite often. He has also made some friends in his Second Grade class. We are planning a trip to Russia next summer to visit his family.
Emma is really sweet. She and Linnea get along well and like to play with each other. We read to her a lot and she can already read some simple books by herself.
Thank you so much for these wonderful children!

Welcome Della, Scarlett, Natalie and Lorie!
Della Genevieve is a two-year-old girl from Rhode Island. Her mother was abusive and so Della was taken into care. Della has blonde hair and green eyes, and enjoys music, nature, animals andbeing outside. She has no disabilities and comes from a Christian family, though was never properly introduced to the religion herself.
Scarlett Caroline is from Idaho and recently turned five years old. She has red hair and brown eyes. Her parents died when they were on holiday, and were caught in a tidal storm. Scarlett was raised as a Christian and is almost completely blind, though she can still make out some shadowy shapes. She loves dogs, running around, music and giggling.
Natalie Megan is seven and is Scarlett's older sister. She also has red hair and brown eyes. Natalie has no disabilities, but she is quite shy and introverted. She loves animals, art, reading, and being with her sister. Natalie would like to bring her dog Coconut with her to her new home. Coconut is a three-year-old male shorthair Jack Russell Terrier, to whom Natalie is very close.
Lorie Lucinda is eleven and from New South Wales, Australia. Lorie's mother committed suicide when Lorie was three, and her father is currently in jail for drug smuggling. Lorie is tall for her age and has brown hair. She wears glasses as she is short-sighted, and she is also dyslexic. Lorie loves clothes, art, history, young children and being around animals.

Welcome Isaura, Adriana, Pablo, Juan Jose and Saul!
Isaura Felipa is an eighteen-year-old girl from Madrid, Spain. She speaks Spanish and English, and was raised in a Catholic household, and still holds these beliefs. She is interested in art, technology, theatrics and British and Spanish history. Isaura's parents disowned her when she came out as a lesbian, but she wants to remain in contact with her little sister Reina and her older brother Cruz.
Adriana Carlota is nineteen, and also from Madrid. Her mother is dying from terminal cancer but has expressed interest in remaining in contact with her daughter until her death. Adriana is a lesbian, and her family fully accepts this. She is in love with Isaura and the two are very close. Adriana enjoys tennis, soccer, dance and painting, and is more forward than Isaura.
Pablo Enrique is a ten-year-old boy from Valencia, and his parents were killed recently in a fire. Pablo is a fanatic supporter of Real Madrid football team and would like to play for them himself some day. He also enjoys computers, video games and collecting model cars.
Juan Jose Marco is eleven and from Malaga. Juan Jose's mother is dead and his father has Schizophrenia and was deemed unfit to care for him. Juan Jose's mother was a dancer and he grew up around the theatre, and has a love of dance and music. He is also very intelligent and devoted to his Catholic faith.
Saul is nineteen and from Barcelona. His parents threw him out after he got his eighteen-year-old girlfriend Monica pregnant. Saul and Monica broke up shortly before they were due to be married, and Monica has since given birth to a baby girl named Lucia Alejandra. Saul is hoping to remain in contact with his daughter and desires custody of her. He likes animals, swimming, writing and being with friends.

Juan Jose and Pablo are close friends now. They have learned each other's interests and now do everything together.
Saul finally has his daughter in his custody, and they are a very loving pair. Saul takes her to the beach all the time and plays with her.

Phoebe Michaela Claire is fifteen and from Vancouver, Canada. Phoebe's mother died at her birth, and her father abused her so she was removed from his care. Rebecca Stephanie is twelve and from Toronto. Her mother was a drug addict who was often neglectful of Rebecca's needs and recently died from a drug overdose. Thank you very much!
Phoebe is adjusting nicely. She's getting professional help because of her OCD and abusive backround. Phoebe has some problems with school but has made some progress lately. She was happy to find out that we have two cats, and her cat Kassie has become friends with our cats Tux and Paws.
Rebecca is doing fine. She is also getting professional help because of her backround and agoraphobia. Rebecca has become friends with our daughter Dahlia and they love to hang out together. At first she had some problems with school because she didn't attend school frequently while living with her mother, but now she is one of the best students in her class.

Welcome Maria, Lyric, Melody and Connor!
Maria Araceli is a baby girl from Mexico, whose parents were killed in a boating accident shortly after her birth. Maria has a heart defect and needs special care because of this. She has no real interests just yet, but she can smile and enjoys being around other people. Her parents were Catholic, but she has no religion of her own just yet.
Lyric Forte and Melody Legato are three-year-old twins from Delaware. They both have brown curly hair and green eyes, and are almost identical - but Melody has a mole on her cheek that Lyric does not. Their mother is a drug addict who can't care for them, but would like to establish some form of contact with her daughters in a few years time, when they are older. Lyric is the louder twin and enjoys dolls, dressing up and anything associated with High School Musical or Hannah Montana. Melody is shyer and loves animals, cartoons and being outside.
Connor Phillip is four years old and from Scotland. He comes from a Catholic family and hopes to bring his dog Whiskey, a Golden Retriever, with him to his new home. His father died fighting with the army, and his mother is dying from a long-term illness. Connor enjoys learning, animals, nature and making things. He has autism, but his is not a very severe case and does not generally prevent him from leading a normal life.

Welcome Carlie, Aoife, Christian, Max and George!
Carlie Rose is a newborn girl from Vancouver, who was abandoned by her parents. She has auburn hair and blue eyes. She has no interests yet and is very small because she was born premature. She has no disabilities that have been observed so far.
Aoife Kathleen is thirteen and from Ireland. Her mother and stepfather had problems with alcoholism and drugs and could therefore no longer care for Aoife and her three half-siblings. The three half-siblings (two boys and a baby girl) have gone to stay with their father's mother. Aoife would like to remain in contact with them and with her mother if it is possible. She likes reading, old movies and music, and aspires to be a doctor. She was raised Catholic, but has decided to become non-religious.
Christian James is seven years old and from South Africa. He is energetic and loves colouring, painting and watching cartoons. His parents were killed by terrorists on a visit to the Middle East. Christian has mild Attention Deficit Disorder but is working on controlling his condition.
Max Vincent and George David are four-year-old twins from Toronto, Canada. They speak English and recently lost their parents in a road accident. They are very close and generally quite quiet, preferring to have just each other's company. They enjoy being outside, swimming and being read to.
Congratulations on your new family members!

Thank you! Updates
It's been almost a year and the children are really getting comfortable in their new home.
Carlie Rose is doing great. The doctors have been keeping a close eye on her, but no problems yet. She started talking quite early and has become quite social. She does love dress-up and our daughters Isobel and Vivien take great delight in dressing her up in the frilliest, pinkest outfits they can find.
Aoife Kathleen is at the top of her class at school and is showing signs of a potential doctor. We all think she will make a great doctor. Aoife has managed to make occasional contact with her half-siblings, usually through e-mail and sometimes over the phone. Her mother visited a few months ago and it was an emotional reunion. As for religion, she is currently classifying herself as an Agnostic and we will support her every decision.
Christian James has been a bundle of fun. He easily makes friends and he and Isobel especially have spent many hours together outdoors. We are working with him, his teachers and his doctor to manage his ADD and so far he's been coping well. He recently expressed interest in knowing how his parents were killed -- he knows they're dead, just not why. We have avoided the terrorism talk and told him that their death was "an unfortunate accident".
Max Vincent is shy but swimming is definitely his comfort zone. He always begs to go to the pool, and he loves his lessons. He and George are almost always found together. Max has not made a lot of new friends at his school, but he's fine with it seeing as he has George and also Isobel and Vivien, who are close to his age.
George David has become the more outgoing of the two but is still quiet. He and Aiden have developed a special bond, George wholeheartedly considers Aiden his older brother. We hate to break George's heart when Aiden leaves in a few months (his mother has found work), but luckily Aiden and his mother will be living nearby and can still visit George.
Thank you for these amazing children!

Welcome May, Sandy, Emma-Louise, Sarah-Jane, Hannah-Kate and Jamie!
May Margaret is seven years old and from Toronto, Canada. She was raised Christian and speaks only English. Her mother died at her birth and her father died more recently from a long-term illness. May is very quiet, but really loves animals, and likes to play with boys more than she does girls.
Alexander "Sandy" Miles is a two-year-old boy from Winsconsin. He has juvenile arthritis, but is otherwise very energetic and is meeting all his development milestones on time. He loves messy activities, loud activities, and running around.
Emma-Louise, Sarah-Jane and Hannah-Kate are triplets from Houston, Texas, and are eight years old. Sarah-Jane and Hannah-Kate are identical, both with blonde hair and blue eyes, but Emma-Louise has green eyes, blonde hair and freckles. They have been in foster care for most of their life - their mother was quite young when they were born and was not ready for three daughters. Emma-Louise loves music and animals, Sarah-Jane loves art and animals, and Hannah-Kate loves dolls and reading. Hannah-Kate is diabetic and has to have insulin administered daily to keep her condition under control. The other two sisters are very healthy.
Jamie Edward is six and from Michigan. He was abandoned by his parents at birth. When he was two he was diagnosed with leukaemia, and been battling it ever since. Jamie's condition is presumed terminal, but he is still having treatment to prolong his short life. He is nonetheless very cheerful and enjoys reading, playing with animals and being with other children.
Congratulations on your new family members!

Welcome Sarah, Etsuko, Simon, Harry, Patton and Izzy!
Sarah Charlotte is sixteen and from Conneticut. She has recently come out as a lesbian, and is quite introverted. She is very musically talented, especially on the violin, and also loves art and drawing. She has no disabilities. Her parents were very violent and abusive towards her, so she was removed from their care.
Etsuko is eight and from Japan. She speaks only Japanese but is very eager to learn English. Etsuko is bubbly and kind, and loves learning, reading, cooking, and other children. Her parents died when she was younger and her ageing grandmother is no longer able to take care of her. Her grandmother lives in Tokyo and would like to stay in contact with Etsuko if possible.
Simon August is a newborn boy from England, and Harry David is his four-year-old brother. They recently lost their parents in a car accident, which they were also involved in. Harry has some emotional issues from the accident - he is very nervous and sometimes wets his bed. He is very protective of his younger brother, and enjoys reading, sports and being outdoors. He speaks English, and Simon cannot yet speak.
Patton Grace is a twelve-year-old girl from South Dakota. She is very girly and loves makeup, drama, clothes and pop music, but is also interested in medicine. She lost her parents recently in a fire and has not spoken about the incident much. She grew up in the same apartment block as Izzy (below) and the two are quite close.
Isadora Jemma Michelle is thirteen and passionately hates her full name, preferring to go by Izzy. Izzy loves music, especially alternative music, and is interested in Goth/punk fashion. Izzy's parents died in the same fire that killed Patton's mom and dad. She is Patton's best friend, though they are very different.
Congratulations on your new family members!

Kaori and Remy have:
Sarah, Izzy, Patton, Etsuko, Harry, Daxton, and Simon
Izzy's legal name is now Izumi Julienne Matilda. We replaced her old name with new names, same initials, and she can still go by Izzy. She likes having a Japanese name. Patton wanted one too, so her new name is Patton Grace Hikari. Sometimes, she'll go by Kari, but normally she is just Patton.
Simon and Harry were both given Japanese names as well. They are now Simon August Kazuki and Henry David Kaito "Harry". Harry still wets the bed, but it's happening less frequently.
Etsuko was given an "American" name, her legal name is now Etsuko Maren. The family calls her Suki. She is learning English very quickly, since she is surrounded by it. She and her grandmother "visit" via Webcam, but it's difficult due to the time differences. The family will go to Japan this summer, and Suki will get to visit her in person.
We offered Sarah a Japanese name, but she said she didn't want another name. So she is just Sarah Charlotte. She's coming out of her shell a bit more, now that she isn't surrounded by violence, but is still quiet. She has made a few friends, and even has her eye on a girl at school. We'll see how that goes. ;]
Thank you for these children!

Welcome Billy, Bethany, Mario, Zach and Elise!
Billy Graham and Bethany Caroline are five-year-old twins from Manchester, England. Both are partially deaf and were abandoned by their parents at birth. In addition, Billy is asthmatic. Billy is a typical little boy - he loves running around, and aspires to be a footballer. Bethany is tomboyish also, and loves animals, but she doesn't like playing very rough with her brother.
Mario Gino is seventeen and originally from Italy, but has lived in England since he was eight and speaks good English as a result. He ran away from home at age thirteen, and had trouble with drugs since then. His long-term girlfriend, another runaway by the name of Laura, died recently from a drug overdose, shortly after giving birth to the couple's only child, Zachary "Zach". Mario has been clean of drugs for six months and enjoys hip-hop music, watching sports and caring for his son.
Zachary Vincent "Zach" is the son of Mario and his late girlfriend Laura. Zach is three months old and as yet cannot talk or walk, but he loves to smile and shows good signs of development.
Elise Fleur is a newborn baby from Belgium. Her mother was killed shortly after her birth and no father can be traced. Elise has no hobbies or interests yet.
Congratulations on your new family members!

We're pleased to report that all of the children are doing exceptionally well. Billy has joined the football team at school and Bethany loves to play with our pet dogs Chappy and Monkey.
Mario is also doing fantastically and is doing a good job of raising young Zach. Whilst he does miss Laura from time to time and has had low days, Mario is doing great.
Both Zach and Elle are learning rapidly, picking up new words and phrases every day. They seem to be in competition with each other, just like twins.
