Lucy Jennifer is a 15-year-old girl from Atlantic City, New Jersey. She has blond hair and brown eyes. Her parents abandoned her as a baby and she has been here ever since. She likes soccer, video games, and movies.
Virgil is a 14-year-old boy from Constanta, Romania. He has black hair and dark brown eyes. His mother is dead and his father was too poor to support him and his brother. Virgil's father would like to visit them. Virgil likes riding his bike, soccer, and singing. He and his brother are Romanian Orthodox and hope to find a church.
Zefirin is Virgil's 7-year-old brother. He has black hair and light brown eyes. He is a shy child who likes swimming, painting, and coloring. Virgil is very protective of him.
Nora Emily is a 10-year-old girl from Manchester, New Hampshire. She has brown hair and green eyes. Her father left the family and her mother wanted her to have a better life, but would like to see her. Nora likes cooking, shopping, and pop music.
Emil Dariusz is a 12-year-old boy from Chelm, Poland. He has blond hair and blue eyes. His parents recently died in a car accident and he has no other family. Despite all this, he is an outgoing and friendly child who likes writing, movies, and swimming. Emil speaks mostly Polish, but understands Russian. He is a practicing Catholic.
All children speak English, though Virgil and Zefirin have some trouble with it and usually prefer to speak Romanian.
