I'm Russian and I've never heard of Yelenya before. The most common Russian nickname for Yelena is Lena. Even if Yelenya exists it's either extremely rare or archaic.Sorry, but your sources don't seem trustworthy.

I've never heard of Lenya (pronounced leh-nya) as a diminutive for any name.Lenya (pronounced lyoh-nya) can be a variant transliteration of diminutive for Leonid.
