Mark...you are on the right track as far as where the surname RANGEL originated from. I have tracked the surname RANGEL as far back as 1049. Yes the surname RANGEL was traced in Texas (USA), Mexico, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, and even Austria.
Radbot, Count of Habsburg, also known as Radbot of Klettgau, was Graf of the county of Klettgau on the High Rhine in Swabia. Radbot was one of the progenitors of the Habsburg dynasty, and he chose to name his fortress Habsburg. He was born in 985 AD.
When you look through the history of.....lets say the King of Spain...you will find that the past Kings/Queens/Dukes/Counts (etc.) had relationships/marriage's with other royals/people from different countries. Not all of the countries now days were countries when back in those times.
In one way or another...we all might be related, lol.
