Engström
in reply to a message by Mike C
I found an error among the updated surnames.
Engström
Ornamental name derived from Swedish ång "meadow" and ström "stream".
The word for meadow is ÄNG. The link and info in that link spells it ÅNG, which is wrong.
ÅNG does exist in names like Ångström (rare surname which was created by an Anders Persson from the place name Ånge where he lived) but is not the word for meadow.
The letters E and Ä were often used interchangeably, so the same person could have his name spelt both Engström and Ängström. But Ångström is not a possible spelling as the letter Å is pronounced like O.
* Ellen * Astrid * Eira * August * Isidore * Emmanuel *
but she wants to be sure 'cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
