etymology of Paris
Son of Priamos, Aleksandros, was told to be, by a profecy, the one who would destroy Troy. King Priamos ordered a farmer to take the baby and kill it. The farmer left the baby into the woods to be killed by verocius animals. But Aleksandros surveived. Then the farmer was convinced that this child was ment to live. And he took him "para". In this case "para" (greek word) means "next", "with". And that child was called "Aleksandros, o Paris", that means that "Paris" as a name, was specifing the more common name Aleksandros. I am a greek boy, my name is Paris and I have searched a lot to find "Paris"'s etymology.
