Stivo
Anyone recognise this one? I know he was living in Czechslovakia in the 30's but nothing else. I've been told it's unrelated to Istvan but what else could it be?

If it is a Czech name it would certainly be a rare one. Googling Czech pages for Stivo turned up only a handful of results, and none of them seemed to be first names.
No other clues as to ethnicity?

He was an architect who has some government buildings in Prague and spoke Czech so assumed to be Czech - the whole family agrees on that. I'll ask some of the Littna family to spell out his surname for me and see if that sheds any light. I'm totally stumped on Stivo - it looks like a nn to Istvan but his daughter swears it's not.
I'll post when I have more to go on!

My guess would be it is a form Steven, or a pet form of Estevan.
Thats only my guess though, and I'm not and expert.

Yes, the Istvan I referred to is a form of Stephen found in Czech and Hungarian. His daughter claims Stivo is unrelated.
