Demi and Demetra
What do you think of these names? Do you pronounce Demi "duh-mee", or "dem-ee"? Thanks!

I prefer Demi (prn. dem-ee) as the nn of Demetria. Demetra is ok, but nms.

When my friends and I role-play [I admit to being a Dungeons and Dragons player, but please don't hold it against me :-) ], my character's name is Demetra. I love it, but it isn't something I'd ever consider in real life. It's perfect for the character, though.

I don't really like either.I'd pronounce Demi Dem-ee, and I'd prefer Demeter to Demetra.

I say DEM-ee. duh-MEE sounds pretentious to me .. like, worthy of a snicker. As if it's short for demitasse or something. Silly!I like Demetra. I like Demetria even more. I wouldn't use Demetria though, out of concern that the nickname Demi would be inevitable. It's not awful, but I don't really care for it. I sort of agree with the comment by dreadfulxsorry on the comments page for Demi.
