Wdyt of Shane?
It's been on my mind quite a bit lately, and I really like it as a varient of the ever-so-common Sean / Shawn / Shaun. Not that I mind Sean, but it's just really popular around where I live. So, wdyt of it? Do you prefer it to Sean, or the other way around? Thanks :)
Just a dream, just an ordinary dream...
as I wake in bed...
and the boy, that boy, that ordinary boy
or was it all in my head?
Did he ask if I would come along?
It all seemed so real.
But as I looked to the door
I saw that boy looking there with a deal.

Shane? I love it!
We had neighbors from Ireland for a short period of time. Seamus, and Josephine. Their oldest was Gavin, Shane the middle child, and their youngest was Kieran. I love all of their names, Seamus is my least favorite. I like Kieran spelled Keiran or Ciaran more though.
Also I really don't care for Sean or any of its different spellings.

Like both Shane and Sean very much
Shane is nmsaa. For some reason it always struck me as a sort of redneck name. Perhaps that impression is just based on the people I've met who have this name, but it's really hard for me to get past that impression. Despite my first impressions, though, I think it does have a nice sound to it and is vrey masculine.
.Catherine Ann Genevieve.
.Catherine Ann Genevieve.
Ditto; it screams "sexy cowboy" to this Texas girl :D

I prefer the spelling Shawn out of Sean (I always pn this as a rhyme with seam), and Shaun (at least I pn this one correctly).
But I do like Shane as well. It is a nice alturnative. Out of Shawn or Shane...I dont know what I like better. I am used to of Shawn because its more popular, and I've heard it all my life so it grows on me. Shane is a very nice varient.
