Lovy / Lovey? It feels kind of cutesy, which appeals to me immensely for some reason--perhaps the dichotomy of his character versus his name. Also, Laz / Lasz, Vaz / Vasz, Lolo, Lova (which offers all sorts of terrible puns like "Lova Man," one of my favourite jazz tunes ;), Lola, Loz, Vava, Vova.Clearly, I'm treating this like a comedy, which it probably isn't--but what can I say? Lova Man sounds cool. ;)Array
