Aw, my favorite aunt's mn is
Valentine. She was born on February 13th. :-/ She's
Joan Valentine.
But I have to agree with you on prefering
Valentine to remain male. St.
Valentine was a man. The only time I've seen it used is in a book, one of the characters in the Poldark series.
Valentine's sister was named
Ursula. How cool is that?
Valentine and
Ursula. But I wouldn't use
Valentine as a male first name today. At least, not here in the U.S. It would still make a nice mn, though, with a recognizably masculine fn:
John ValentinePearce /
Piers ValentineJude ValentineNoel ValentineNicholas ValentineStephen ValentineHugh Valentine Felix Valentine
Valentina is an off-beat treasure for a girl:
Valentina Sophie Valentina Alix (old French /
German form of
Alice)
Valentina RosalindValentina PearlValentina ClemenceValentina IsabelleValentina Noe"l
Valentina EsmeValentina Colette Valentina CelesteValentina PetraValentina IlsaValentina Liv (begins and end with a "v" -- too cutesy?)
Valentina MaiaValentina JoyValentina NadiaValentina DamarisValentina Diane
Many of these
Valentina combinations work well switched around. Have fun!
