HelpRe: Talk me out of or into these “maybe” names

Elizabeth: elegant, beautiful, timeless but unlikely to be used in full; better therefore as a mn. I gave it to my daughter as a mn and it works!
Grace: my friend Grace says that when they were kids, her brother used to call her Dis! Grace as in graceful is a good meaning, but there is also the theological reference to God's grace, which I find inappropriate on a human. I'd rather use Anne.
Holly: nobody uses Molly or Polly any more, and Holly sounds similar and is also a reminder of a very prickly shrub. I dislike it.
Joy: the only virtue name I really love. Plus, it has no obvious nickname! Given another daughter, I'd have seriously considered it.
Julia: I love Latin, but in English Julia seems stodgy and heavy. I'd much prefer Juliet, but only as a mn, to avoid the trite Julie and Jules nns.
Lark: absolutely not! Whether a bird or a dated reference to a naughty joke, it's just plain unsuitable.
Pearl: lovely jewel, ugly sound. Don't like Merle either. Margaret would be much nicer.
Nathaniel: I'd prefer Nathan for convenience, but I don't like either enough to consider using them.
