I went from being a lifelong Grace hater to somehow randomly falling in love with it, still unsure how that happened. But it's sleek and elegant while also being sweet and gentle. I just see it as a very classy and timeless name. I also like Gracie.
As for Grace. I might be a little biased because I know someone named Grace and they are awesome and super talented. That being said its a timeless name and even though its not my number 1 favorite name, I still like it
As for Grace alone, it's kind of boring. It's not bad, but names that sound graceful would be much better. That, of course, differs from person to person. To me, Lilac, Primrose, Constance, Cornelia, Patience, Euphemia, Delia, Angel, Lila and Celia sound graceful, even if I don't enjoy all of them.
Grace : Classic, timeless, simple, cute and elegant at the same time. Graceful! Love!!!Elizabeth : Just a perfect name, you can never go wrong. So beautiful. And countless nicknames that can suit any bearer.
Holly : Cute...but that's it. I can't imagine it on anyone older than 5, or a Hallmark character. However, I like Hollis nn Holly.
Joy : Cute, but I prefer it as a middle name. It doesn't suit very many people. For a first name, I prefer Joyce.
Julia : Beautiful!! Stunning. Another one that you just can't go wrong with.
Lark : Harsh sounding, and only brings to mind a bird. Could be a middle name though.
Pearl : It sounds nice as a middle name, but as a first sounds lackluster. Elizabeth Pearl or Julia Pearl is lovely!Nathaniel : Love! Elegant and strong. Great nickname options as well.

Elizabeth - boring and overdone
Grace - nasal and not attractive, imo
Holly - not a fave, but it’s a solid name
Joy - better as a middle name
Julia - a beautiful classic, maybe a little boring
Lark - awful, especially for a girl
Pearl - I think it’s ugly-sounding, sorryNathaniel - not a fave, but it’s a solid name
Grace is quite dull and “basic.”
I love Grace! I know it’s popular and that doesn’t deter me, which I figure is a good test of how much you really like a name.
It’s simple and strong. Pretty without being vapid.I do feel like it’s a bit of a cop out in the middle name place, however.
Grace is incredibly boring, it's like white noise. Sometimes people talk about names that feel like the parents "just didn't care" about putting thought into a name - Grace has that vibe to me. It's very "meh".
Grace is very nice, though extremely popular both as a middle name and a first name, if that's ever an issue for you.
Pearl feels old-lady and frumpy, like maybe a country cousin fro the Beverly Hillbillies.
Elizabeth is very dull and "default." But it does have plenty of nickname options.Joy is simple and pretty, and compared to a lot of the other virtue names, it's not very common now. I guess it was ahead of its time when it was popular.Holly is quite cute.Lark doesn't feel like a name to me. The sound isn't very attractive and it feels trying-too-hard.Nathaniel is okay but I like Nathan better.
Elizabeth: elegant, beautiful, timeless but unlikely to be used in full; better therefore as a mn. I gave it to my daughter as a mn and it works!Grace: my friend Grace says that when they were kids, her brother used to call her Dis! Grace as in graceful is a good meaning, but there is also the theological reference to God's grace, which I find inappropriate on a human. I'd rather use Anne.Holly: nobody uses Molly or Polly any more, and Holly sounds similar and is also a reminder of a very prickly shrub. I dislike it.Joy: the only virtue name I really love. Plus, it has no obvious nickname! Given another daughter, I'd have seriously considered it.Julia: I love Latin, but in English Julia seems stodgy and heavy. I'd much prefer Juliet, but only as a mn, to avoid the trite Julie and Jules nns.Lark: absolutely not! Whether a bird or a dated reference to a naughty joke, it's just plain unsuitable.Pearl: lovely jewel, ugly sound. Don't like Merle either. Margaret would be much nicer. Nathaniel: I'd prefer Nathan for convenience, but I don't like either enough to consider using them.
Molly is still in use in the US.
Elizabeth: Could work on any type of girl. Sounds smart, mature, and put-together.
Grace: Similar vibes to Elizabeth but sounds younger and isn't as flexible. Is even more cliche as a MN than Elizabeth, is much better as a FN.
Holly: Christmas. Green. Friendly. Harmless. The name of a grandmother who likes to bake cookies, or the name of the granddaughter who likes to help with the cookies. Very sweet name - almost too sweet.
Joy: Bright yellow. Exuberant. Child-like wonder. This name wouldn't work on certain people.
Julia: very flexible name, could use Jules and Julie as NNs but there's not really a need. It sounds like grace without being Grace. I can see a ballerina or a princess.
Lark: A bird. Not bad, but there are admittedly some better bird names. Robin, Wren or Raven.
Pearl: The large whale from Spongebob, a grandmother, or a precious gemstone - the imagery that I get for this one is all over the place. I would prefer it as a MN because it's harder to match Pearl with other names than the other way around.
Nathaniel: Very serious and godly. Nate seems like an oversimplified NN. Nathan is too long of one. This name is all-man - I think it would seem odd on someone who doesn't go to church or doesn't exude "manly" vibes.
