I think its moment has passed. Sherry, like Brandi, was used in the hip and flamboyant 60s and then abruptly vanished. I'd be surprised to see it make a come-back: the giggly rebelliousness that must have been such fun at the time is a thing of the past.I don't like any of the spellings listed. I don't like the name at all.

Offhand, I'd say that Sherry predated Brandy by a few decades. Brandy was very much a seventies and eighties favorite. I'm thinking Sherry probably came out of Sharon more than the drink, and in any case, sherry is not really the kind of drink you'd associate with rebellion or hippies ... more like Grandma's bridge club.
