Space-related names aka names that should be used for SyFy characters
Mythological names
Names that are practically all consonants.
Modernized religious names / religious word names (i.e. crazy spellings, mashing together trendy names with religious names) - Praise spelled Prayz or Worship spelled Wyrshyppe
Old, weird saint names
Long florid names with itsy bitsy nicknames - Nicodemus nn Nic or Vespasian nn Vee
Hyper-genderized names v. completely non-gendered neutral names (Anastasia v. River)
Non-English names getting more airplay in the English-speaking world

Going with the 100 year cycle here. So probably names that were popular in around 1950.I feel like these have the potential to make comebacks:James, Robert, John, Michael, David, William, Richard, Thomas, Charles, Gary, Joseph, Kenneth, Steven, Stephen, Dennis, Paul, George, Daniel, Edward, Marc, Mark, Jerry, Gregory, Bruce, Roger, Douglas, Frank, Terry, Raymond, Gerald, Peter, Patrick, Alan, Lawrence, Anthony, Arthur, Henry, Jack, Jeffrey, Carl, Karl, Dale, Harold.*Jack and Henry might skip their comeback, because they are popular now again so will probably sound dated in 2050.Linda, Mary, Patricia, Barbara, Susan, Nancy, ... I feel as though most of the long-standing names will still be popular, even if they seem old-fashioned by that time. Biblical names in particular seem to hold up pretty well (the ones that have already become popular, not Jebediah or Zebulon).Boys: Noah, Joseph, Jacob, Paul, Elijah, Matthew, Jeremiah, John, Thomas, James, Henry, Christopher, Trevor, Charles, Rodney, Richard, Leo, George, William, Liam, Joshua, Adam, Anthony, Christian, Arthur, etc.Girls: Rebecca, Rachel, Mary, Ruth, May, Jane, Julie, Julia, Hannah, Anna, Anne, Elizabeth, Elisabeth, Emma, Emily, Nicole, Laura, Kate, Charlotte, Regina, Jessica, Diana, Ella, Leah, etc.

About a year ago I went down this rabbit hole of thinking I'd figured out "the pattern" of which names get popular over time based on where they are charting. After practically making one of those serial killer yarn boards, I came up with this theory that a name which is already on the rise but is currently around the 200-300 slot will be Very Popular in 25 years. SO according to this, the names that MIGHT be popular in North America in 2050 are:Griffin

Of course boy trends are always much more stable than girls, and I am sure that stuff like James, William, Daniel and Jack will still be popular as usual. I wonder if certain nickname will change, though - like Jay, Jim and Jimmy might return. Also, some names that are already getting popular, like Ezra, Leo, Elias, Miles will probably keep rising.Girls names in 2050:Evangeline (I met a dog named Evangeline the other day so this bodes well for the name's popularity)

I just want my daughter to be the only one in her class with her name so it stays special 😭🤣🤣🤣 maybe I'll give her 2 more highly unusual middle names to overly compensate 🤣

My name nerding mostly resides on the spectrum of "I like to research names that are of interest to me personally' less so on the end of popularity analysis and predictions. However, I was curious about this, so I whipped out Chat GPT again to calculate a couple graphs based on previous name cycling trends. I did this by having it analyze the American 2023 popularity chart vs the last 100 years' worth of trends in the top 100s of what was coming in and out of style, and to give me predictions for 50 and 100 years based on these cycles.
