Warder
Everybody knows how wild old American names are (especially in the south), with different biblical names, mythologies and surnames creating a varied and very individualistic namescape.
I was reading up on Jewish converts in 19th-20th century Ottoman Palæstina, and came across perhaps the most famous of them, the American-born Warder Cresson.
I was wondering, do you think his birthname, Warder, could come back? I think it's very cute and has a good meaning.

It sounds better than Walker and I've met a few of those recently.
I don't think the sound is attractive and I don't think it will come back at all. People would be more inclined to use Walker, Walter, or Wilder.
it sounds like a regional pronunciation of waterSo Warder Cresson sounds an awful lot like watercress in a funny accent.
No, I doubt very much it'll make a comeback, not that it has very much to come back from.
Don't like it at all. 2 boys at school are Baliff and Sheriff. Don't like them either
Moi, the thought of going through life sounding like a prison guard is etirely unappealing.
That was my first thought too!
