Re: What are the ugliest names you have come in contact with in real life?
Oh that's interesting about James. The sound? Please rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

I agree the sound of James is very unappealing. For every name that exists there are people who are put off by it ... So don't worry about it if there are a few of us who think James is ugly. There is no name in the world that everyone thinks is lovely. Not even bland, conservative, and perennially overused names.
I also feel like the sound of the names William (and Will and Liam) and Jacob are unpleasant.
I don't mind Jamie and Jake.(also I agree with Manipura about Beverly, Courtney, Riley, Parker, and Jimbo)

Must be! There was a James in my kindergarten class, and I remember thinking his name sounded nasty. And I still don't like it.I actually have several relatives named James, but I didn't even know before I was older because they all go by NNs! Jim and Jay are ok.

But Jacoby and Jake and Yakov are ok.

Okay, if I name a future son James I will refer to him only as "Variant of Jake" when talking to you about him. Lol

Huh, interesting. James is actually in one of my top lists for a future son. If I use it someday I will sensor it for you so you don't have to hear the sound in your head friend 😄❤️ lol
