What are the ugliest names you have come in contact with in real life?
I feel like for me they have definitely been Cletus, Hubert, Eula, Bertha, and Teegan imo.
Please rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

I met someone named Sushi. It was her real name. Not her fault but it is... bad.
That's pretty bad. You can't eat sushi during pregnancy. Maybe it's what her mom was craving the whole time lol
How are people encountering men named Cletus? LOL
Kayleigh is pretty visually and aurally offensive. I work with a lovely woman unfortunately named Shay + Leah (as one name with just the "s" capitalized). I used to work with a woman named Ansley, which pained me to utter.

I've always thought Beverly, Courtney, Shirley, Riley, Frankie, Scarlett, Paisley, Berit, Taylor, Parker, Spencer, Chet, Gordon, Jimbo, and James were ugly.
I've met a Honey and disliked it but wouldn't call it ugly. I've met people named things like Fanny, Cletus, Boris, Silke, Tripp, but I mostly thought they were neat.

Oh that's interesting about James. The sound?
I agree the sound of James is very unappealing.
For every name that exists there are people who are put off by it ... So don't worry about it if there are a few of us who think James is ugly. There is no name in the world that everyone thinks is lovely. Not even bland, conservative, and perennially overused names.
I also feel like the sound of the names William (and Will and Liam) and Jacob are unpleasant.
I don't mind Jamie and Jake.
(also I agree with Manipura about Beverly, Courtney, Riley, Parker, and Jimbo)

Must be! There was a James in my kindergarten class, and I remember thinking his name sounded nasty. And I still don't like it.
I actually have several relatives named James, but I didn't even know before I was older because they all go by NNs! Jim and Jay are ok.

"Variant of Jacob"
Huh, interesting. James is actually in one of my top lists for a future son. If I use it someday I will sensor it for you so you don't have to hear the sound in your head friend 😄❤️ lol

No offense to anyone, just my personal taste:
Cletus - I actually encountered this recently! It makes me think of fetus paired with clitoris. Nothing against fetuses or anything but the sound of the name on a human is just odd.
Margaret - I always kind of liked it written down but sounded out it just doesn't sound nice to me.
Andrea - always found this very harsh.
Bray and Brayden - I just think of donkey. I like donkeys, but still.
Edda - just so harsh.
Eddie - slimy. I like Edward and Edmund, though.
Stevie - I can't figure out why, maybe because it makes me think of "stinky"? I also dislike Steve.
Burke - close to burp.
Breck, Brock, Brecken, Brocken - harsh.
