Carina is really cute and chic. Karina is ok, but something about it seems like it's trying a little too hard to be special. Like, you know how the main character in an anime is the only one with pink hair, or purple eyes, or something like that? Karina has big "purple eyes main character" energy, so ironically, it feels rather flimsy. Carina feels warmer, sturdier.

I like Carina and Karina, but prefer Karina slightly because it honors my grandmother. I don't think I like it enough to use, but it's a great alternative for the dated Karen / Karin. I like Katrina a lot as well, in spite of the hurricane.

I think it's very pretty. I slightly prefer the k to the c but it's not much of a preference.
Karen was already so dated when the meme got popular that it doesn't even factor into my equations. If I had to compare Carina/Karina to a name, it would be Katrina, which is already a bit dated but which I like a lot. Someone who had been personally affected by Hurricane Katrina might hesitate to use the name but Karina might please them.
