Marion or Marian?
They sound pretty much the same, but at this time I'm leaning more towards Marian. Anyone else?

Maid Marion was actually her name.
I don't know about that...

Maid Marion is also used, but I know the story with Marian

Marian all the way. Marion is matronly looking and unhip even to me, but Marian's gorgeous and classy and all things good. You can show her Robin Hood and The Music Man when she's little. :)

I'm with you on that. I like Marian... mainly because I find the spelling preferable to be honest.
Marion is what I'd use either way.
Marian looks nicer to me.

So happens my paternal grandmother's name was Marion. I have never known if her parents chose that spelling deliberately. My younger sister Leah has the mn Marion for our grandmother. If I were to use the name for one of my kids, I would use the O spelling because of family. But family influence aside, I do prefer the A spelling on a girl.

Marian is much nicer, imo.
Marian for a girl, Marion for a boy.
