Fine name, cute diminutive. Knew a Pam most of my life, so it's a very comfortable name.

Eh, it's alright. I feel like it's a little bit square and boring, though. Kinda like Brenda or Linda. Or Evelyn or Martha, for that matter. Pam is fine. It's friendlier than Pamela. Pam reminds me of nn's like Bev, Jan, Fran, Barb, Marty, and Dot.

A friend of mine in elementary school had Pamela as a middle name and, around the time I was friends with her, I had a lip balm I got in Myrtle Beach; it had tiare-like flowers on the canister and the name/brand on it said “Panama.” For a long time I associated Pamela with Panama and thought it was completely exotic and beautiful. I definitely prefer Pamela to Pam.

I think Pamela is very pretty. It sounds like it ought to be a flower name, though it isn't. I don't like Pam, it sounds like a hard slap, and also reminds me of what I spray my baking pans with. (Also, Pam is the name of my MIL's sister, who is one of those people who thinks she's a lot smarter and cooler than she actually is. Yes, her full name is Pamela.)

I really like both Pamela & Pam.

I like Pamela very much; Pam is probably inevitable and is OK. My doctor's receptionist is Pamela and she doesn't use a nn.

I like it. People may call it old-fashioned but I don't care. I think it sounds wonderful and feminine.
