I feel you. I've seen some pretty harsh comments about my own name here. And to tell the truth, I think they are due solely to the fact that my name is dated, as is yours.

I can't really wrap my mind around anyone thinking Patricia is ugly. Dated, of course. Old lady and middle-aged, well, sure, all dated names are. Frumpy, maybe, because it was so popular that some women named Patricia were bound to be frumpy. But ugly? Of course, opinions are opinions and can't always be and don't have to be justified, but Patricia is so soft and melodious I can't help thinking that in the case of this name "ugly" means simply "dated".
