Selma feels very old-ladyish to me, like Thelma and Velma and Alma and Wilma.
Sasha is cute. There's sasha Obama, but her actual name is Natasha; I assume that Sasha is her or her sister's baby pronunciation of Natasha.
We used to have a cat named Sasha, a beautiful and evil-tempered cat we had to give to friends because of her wild ways. (They had a farm at the time and she was able to live the life of a mighty hunter instead of a housecat.)
