Caroline (NOT Carolyn) is one of my favorites. I don't hear it too often, but it seems like one of those classic, timeless names. It fits a little girl easily, but seeing as it's a name from "Little House on the Prairie," it suits a grown woman as well. Can you picture a 2 year old named Ethel? What about an 87 year old named Neveah?

Pretty much yes to both. Some names come back, so some 2-year-olds are the first to be given coming-back-into-style names, and the babies who today are being given trendy/popular names will someday be 87 (some of them at least, those who live that long).
