Re: Letitia
in reply to a message by Puck
I do like it a lot, but I keep forgetting it is pronounced lih-TISH-uh to most. My cousin is named this. She lives in Italy and pronounces it Leh-te-tzee-ah. I adore it. It's not so rare there. In general, I have found this name gets a bad rap. It seems to have something to do with it being more popularly used in African American families. Not sure why that gives it a nod down... but sadly it seems to nock a few points off for some people. I find it lovely. It's a prettier Felicia.______________________________________________

The Italian pronunciation is quite pretty. I like it AND Lucrezia.

I LOVE Lucrezia! There was a little Italian girl at my school when I was 6 or so. She had pierced ears and wore a gold chain with a cross around her neck. Once she came to school in her communion dress. The rest of us little late 70s heathens, in our carefully non-gendered corduroy dungarees thought she was impossibly glamorous and envied her jewellery and princessy clothes and name enormously!

Side note: Neither shine a light on the delightful Ludovica though.
