I love both Whitney and Whitley on a boy. They were masculine names to start, you know. No more senseless than a boy named Ashley. Plus, nn Whit is hella masculine sounding if u ask me. I'd hate to be a female "Whit"

Ha, but I think a boy named Ashley is senseless, also. Ashley is another of the very few surnames that I think is too feminine for a boy.I agree that Whit is masculine and not feminine sounding, but I wonder how many female Whitneys are called Whit on a regular basis.

Most of the Whitneys I've encountered get called Whit quite a bit
