Being an
Ann Marie myself, it took me a long time to like the combination of names. I always liked being an
Ann. But the
Marie part on top of
Ann felt way too normal and even a bit prissy.
But now I like the simplicity of the combination. And making them into one name makes perfect sense to me. I've used it in combos like
Pearl Annemarie and
Niamh Annmarie (spelling adjusted for
Niamh because once I was seriously considering it for a child and
Annmarie is more our family spelling).
I love
Anneliese, which I say, "ANN-uh-LEE-zuh." They are both nice, although I have to be partial and pick
Annemarie. :-P
