Name your "celebrity" baby
We all know celebs have a tendency to go a little out there when naming their kids. So dI was just thinking it'd be fun to name our own "celeb" babies - As in, if you were famous and were going to go the route of picking something totally wacky for your kid(s), what would you name them?I'll post mine later

Domino is very intriguing...
vote up1
Loving Coriander Lovelace and Domino Sinclair ;) I was considering some sort of "Love" name for my girl combos but Loveday and Lovegood just sounded too masculine - Lovelace is nice though

I don't generally like "wacky" names, but I think I'd name twin girls Plum and Clementine if I had to.

I'd probably just go ahead and name the boy Figaro! Because YOLOI think I'd do a phrase name for the girls. Like maybe Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds In Her Eyes Lastname. And then just Figaro.
vote up1
I considered Figaro for my own brood..... and Geronimo.
I also really wanted to use Rockabilly (nn Billy, of course) for a girl :) Or at least something like Roxanne Wilhelmina / Billie Raquel = Rockabilly
vote up1
Heh heh. There is a song by Swedish entertainer Povel Ramel (1922-2007), in which he sings (translated to English by me here):
"My mother's name was Sara Beata Johanna Elvira Johanna Katrina Carolin Gustafva Pernilla Johanna Therese Albertina Johanna....
...my father's name was Kurt."

Omg Pollyanna Sassafras is PERFERCT.
vote up1
Thanks! I thought so too :)Pollyanna Marigold was the first combo I had in mind but seemed almost too "safe"
vote up1
Disney Calanthe
November Lyric
Journey AglaiaSparrow Ezra
Boston MatthiasI know Sparrow's been done & Boston's really not that weird, but I just don't have many boys names that I like, out there or otherwise. Grover could be considered out there, but I'd use that in a second celebrity or not so I'm not sure that counts.

I have a cynical view of celebrity baby naming, so let's see. As a celebrity, I'd want to be sure to pick names that would get me free publicity every time an article on "wacky" celebrity baby names was written, so:Herbert Pei Thunderbird
Mildred Ella-Fitzgerald BluebonnetNames no one in their right mind would use to show how bold I am: check.
Names that obviously reference architecture, art, or jazz to show how high brow I am: check.
Names that are OTT odd to show how special I am: check. Mission accomplished! If nothing else, these would get me near-daily exposure on Nameberry for years.

Avacado Jayyce Periwinkle for a boy, Bartholomew Lambert Hank for a girl.

Foxglove Wren & Snowdrop LarkIf I had a boy, I have no idea what I would do!
vote up1
If it's a celebrity baby, those are perfectly reasonable names for a boy(:

Good idea!Pandora Mai Acacia "Panda"
Mai is pronounced "mei" not "may" because it's meant to refer to Chiang Mai and Acacia is a favourite food of African elephants.
Pomona Saba Mokara "Pomme"
Saba is seven in Swahili and Mokara is a favourite orchid.Indiana Kabatha Karst "Indy"
Indiana is Jones, Kabatha is a friend, Karst is beautiful.
Jago Issa Chang
Jago and Issa are forms of names of good friends, Chang is elephant in Thai.

Hmmm, not out there enough. What about:Io Atlantica or Io Atalanta
Romilly More
Masha Brontë
Lark Sévérine
Peregrine Dare (even though I like it better on a boy, it would make a bigger splash on a girl)Tennyson North
Eugene Salamander
Maverick Rio
Humphrey Banquo
Heathcliff Mortimer (twin to Humphrey, of course - all celebrities need a pair)?I had fun coming up with Salamander, in case you couldn't tell. :)

Agreed!I love Tennyson Oliver! :)

Not sure, maybe like Easter Pearl or Royal Thomas. Mostly though I wanted to share this:I recently had a Sim who was a celebrity (who my 4 year old named Jy Bee), and he had a daughter so I named her Banana. When I told my son her name was Banana, he laughed and said, "That's not a name!" Exactly. :)

I've always thought if I was a celeb I'd use Shalom Tigerlily for a girl or maybe Lotus-Blossom Skye. I'm liking Tigerlily / Tiger-Lily at the moment, almost tempted to consider using it for real life! For a boy Kit Lascelles Sacheverall maybe? Not very celeb-like though, just long and a bit pretentious!
vote up1
I have a friend with a daughter named Tiger-Lily. I've said it so many times it seems normal to me, although I did think it was a bit out there when I first heard it.
vote up1
Agree! It's just a flower, why Rose and Lily, but not Tiger-Lily?
vote up1
This was Gwyneth Paltrow's argument when she got flack for Apple
vote up1
Actualy, why fruit, and not vegetables?Apple, Cherry, Persimon (I know one of these.)but not Carrot.Or Celery. Perhaps because fruit is sweet?
vote up1
Well there is Kale :) At least I know a few Cales. And then there's Lettice... which might as well be lettuce
vote up1
I'll just go with the craziest names I've ever liked:August Sky for a girl and Seven Thaddeus for a boy.
vote up1
Well most of my names and combos are a little out there. I'm going to come up with the ones I'd be fine actually choosing and then some I would never use but really like.Serafina Marian Lyra, Arturus Garrett Orion, and Keiran Robert Perseus. Or Serafina Marian Lyra, Arturus Garrett Orion, and Dante Frieda Callisto (g).Aquila Hazel Justine, Taliesin Reginald Hawk, and Kestrel Edmund Balder (b). Or Aquila Hazel Justine, Taliesin Reginald Hawk, and Kestrel Freya Elanor (g).

A bunch of my combos could probably pass for celebrity. But I'll come up with something different. Zophielle Eupraxia Sixtine Corbeau Petrichor Vox
vote up1
Not sure the average celeb is thinking as arcanely or deeply as you are........ Sixtine and Vox are spot on, though.
