Normally I'd go for the less popular name, but Ruth really sounds harsh and unattractive to me. Grace is a beautiful name, so it gets my vote anyday."Bob Loblaw's law blog."

Ruth. It's strong, Biblical, and not nearly as overused as Grace."No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

GraceIt pains me to say that, because I hate how overused Grace is. But I've always hated Ruth aesthetically, and if I had to choose one for a child, Grace it would need to be.Edited to add: I do like both Gracie and Ruthie, equally, as nicknames._____________________________________________________________________Elinor"I couldn't imagine somebody like Osama bin Laden understanding the joy of Hanukkah."

I prefer Grace and similar names such as Grace or Gracie. Ruth is just too old-fashioned for my liking, however, I do like Ruthie/Rufie for a boy.

I love both names, but I'd go with Grace. I've been thinking about this name a lot lately and it's just so pretty. Sure it's popular, but it's a classic name too.

I like the sound of Grace a little better, but the extreme overuse of it at the moment turns me off of it completely. Ruth is also a great name, it's Biblical, it's recognizable and easy to spell/pronounce but NOT overused. I sound like a commercial. :b And I think the nn's Ruthie and Ru/Rue are great. :)

Ruth, but only because it's my middle name and a family name for me.

Oh! Two of my favorites!! I like both equally the same... with nicknames "Gracie" and "Ruthie".However, if I had to decide, I'd pick Grace because of the meaning. Grace is a quality I wish I had...and it's not a bad name either!

Grace - it is sooo classy and elegant. Ruth is nice, too, but I wouldn't call it either classy or elegant.

I prefer both as mn. And I prefer Ruth, b/c Grace is so overused."But it’s all right now.

Ooh, this is a hard one.I like the look and sound of Grace more. I just think it's more attractive than Ruth, which sounds abrupt and harsh to me.But Grace has become so popular that I'm just tired of it. Ruth, even though it isn't my preference, could be consider refreshing because I hear it so infrequently. So basically, I'm not sure. :-) Grace for the sound, Ruth for being less common.

I prefer Grace far above Ruth because it's prettier to me. I do like Ruth but I think Grace makes a better first or middle name. :)Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I prefer Grace, because I have never cared very much for Ruth. Grace is a really sweet name, I think, and very timeless, whereas Ruth seems like an old lady's name :)

I like Grace the best b/c it has a much softer sound. Also, Grace is a virtue name that I've always loved. I do like Ruth and it's a nice biblical name, but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose Grace.

It's close .. I likeword name Grace > Bible name Ruth
very popular Grace < less common Ruth
religious-overtoned Grace < classic old Ruth
bright sound of Grace > quiet sound of Ruth
harsh sound of Grace < serene sound of Ruth
cute nn Gracie < cute nickname RuthieRuth is better imo .. but just barely.- chazda

I LOVE both names, but I would pick Ruth because Grace is so overused.
