Short & Spunky?

I am trying to find short, spunky old-fashioned nicknames. Any ideas?I want something along the lines or Gus and Elsie.

I'm still mulling this over. In college I had a friend named Rebel who went by Reb. I think Reb is a great short & spunky name for a boy, could also be short for Reuben. Also thought about Moe for Maurice, or Morris.Came across the name Xan for girls, pronounced Zan.

Kit--short for Christopher or Katherine
Flip--short for Philip or PhilippaYou can shorten last names into nicknames too.Or you can take a characteristic of the character and use that. There are characters in "an Old Fashioned Girl" by Louisa May Alcott named "Spider", "Rumple" and "Sherry".Hope this helps!
