My favorites are:
Leif and Erik (Viking explorers - I also like Erik's Old Norse name, Eirikr)
Njord (Norse god of the sea)
I also really liked Poseidon when I was 14 but I outgrew it. Neptune is another sea-god name, but I never liked it.

Llyr!Llyr is Welsh and means "sea". I think it's a beatiful name for a boy.

Hmmm. Sorry for any repeats:Poseidon
Niamh (a water sprite)
Ondine / Undine (from the French word for wave, onde)
Muriel (= bright sea)
Murphy (= hound of the sea)
Aquinas (m) ("ah-KWIE-nus") (I don't know the etymology of Aquinas, but it makes me think of Aqua)
Jason ("and the Argonauts")
Marina (= little Maria, but the similarity to a marina is too obvious to ignore)(nn Marnie is cute)
Marinus (m)
Pacifica
Sandrine (from Alexandrine)
Henry (the Navigator)
Leif (Eriksson -- sp?)
Brendan (the Navigator)
Vasco (da Gama -- sp?)
Columba (m)(f)ETA: Marisol (I know it's Maria + sol / sun. But it always sounds like mar / sea + sol / sun. How great would a name meaning sea + sun be?
Some of these are rather far-fetched, I admit.
[By the way, Piers has an "s" sound on the end, not a "z" sound as in the plural of a pier. Piers is the older spelling of Pierce.]

Argo (Jason's ship, hence the name Argonauts)
Marinus
Maris
Meredith
Nausicaa (My professor told me that 'nausi' is a wave and 'caa' is the sound of a gull's cry. He is incorrect, but it's lovely imagery anyway.)
Nemo
Neptune
Nerissa
Ocean
Odysseus
Poseidon
Skipper
Undine

Totally reaching for some of these.
Nautica (My husband has had both male and female students with this name.)
Harbor - I think this would be cool, actually
Horatio - I'd imagine most people think of Nelson or Hornblower, both of which are nautical associations
Brig
Quay
Isle
Wake
Galley
Astrolabe? Armada? :P
the names of any oceans or seas
...Shiply? lolI guess it depends on if this is for fun/hypothetical or not.
