I think it's trendy and made-up-y and I don't like it. I also haven't heard of it as Irish, I've only seen it listed as a nn for Candace. Where did you hear it was Irish?

Well I was skeptical about it being Irish too. Then I read under user-contributed that it came from an Irish word meaning southerner. I immediately thought of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Déisi

Whoops, English. I read this last night and I thought I remembered it saying Irish. And the girl I heard it on told me Irish, too. I should know better by now than to listen to people that aren't on this site. :phttp://www.babynames.com/name/DACEY
